What we do
Modern (post 1950’s)
Re-covering:
where a customer simply wants to change the colour of a piece of furniture,
we cover the piece with new fabric, leather or vinyl.
Re-upholstery: where cushions are sagging, webbing has lost its elasticity, padding is flat, stuffing is poking out through holes in the fabric, we rebuild and repair as necessary, before re-covering with fabric in the customer’s choice
Traditional (pre-1950’s)
Furniture
from this period usually contains animal hair, fibre, cotton, wool and
steel springs, all of which can show signs of wear after 50 years! All
these materials can be refreshed or rebuilt. Joints may need re-glueing,
external show wood may need repairing and repolishing. After all this
has been done, the furniture is re-covered with fabric chosen by the
customer.
